Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract –Repair Hinge Pin Assembly for B1-B4 Doors.

THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION/PROPOSAL

377 MSG/PKC, Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB), New Mexico, intends to issue a contract to Laron LLC. The objective of this effort is to repair the hinge pin assembly on doors B1-B4 of building 27496 on KAFB. The hinges and processes required to complete this objective requires highly specialized components and techniques to ensure that the doors are functional and free from structural damage, with minimal to no down time. Additional details pertinent to the effort include, but not limited to:

• Upgrades to specific parts of the doors, i.e., pins, bearings and fasteners.


• Improvement of the original design, the new design should eliminate the reoccurrence of the shifting/moving problem.


• Improvement of the original design and fabricated pins, bearings, and fasteners should match the characteristics of those being provided for doors B9 and B12 under Contract No. FA9401-19-P-A031, this requirement provides for the furnishing of parts that successfully handle the excessive load of doors up to 56,000 LBs; additionally, the uniform approach allows for the spare parts to be easily provided for at a fair and reasonable price to the Government.

It is the current position of our office that there is only one contractor, Laron LLC., capable of performing the agency need. Anticipated contract award is on or about 24 April 2023. The PSC is C1AZ. The NAICS is 237990 and the size standard is $45.0M.

Interested businesses may identify their capability to perform this requirement by submitting a capability statement. Responders must clearly demonstrate in their capability statement that they are able to provide the required services to the Hinge repair. Documentation submitted shall not exceed 5 pages and shall be submitted electronically.
